PRACTICE CASES

THE CNBA REVIEW NOW CONTAINS OVER 40 IN-DEPTH PRACTICE CASES
YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS!

Note: The Practice Cases are INCLUDED and only AVAILABLE with the purchase of the Full Review!

SAMPLE PRACTICE CASES ARE PROVIDED BELOW
(READ ON FOR DETAILS!)

PLEASE NOTE: These cases/conditions and case scenarios may be presented differently (different history, different presentation, different clinical findings and different Ortho/Neuro Tests for a given condition etc.) by NBCE, however the core of these cases/conditions presented will share a lot of similarities.

When going through the practice tests in this review, make a note to also study and become acquainted with all of the options/conditions that were NOT selected as answers (they are also important and likely to appear on the NBCE Examination). We cannot provide a practice test for every single condition or pathology, therefore you must take the time to study the remaining conditions and their clinical presentations in detail.

This section will give you the opportunity to take multiple practice exams/tests of conditions that have appeared and are likely to appear again on the actual NBCE Examination. Please note that this review does NOT guarantee that the same/identical types of radiographic images or identical types of questions will appear on the Part 4 Examination. It is important to understand that NBCE can generate so many different cases/scenarios/questions for a given condition or pathology and thus make it challenging for the student. Therefore, we highly advise that you do NOT memorize the cases presented in this review but rather take the time to study each of the conditions and their clinical presentations in detail.

ATTENTION: This section and the sample cases presented in the CNBA Review are designed to help the student/doctor prepare and practice for the NBCE Part 4 Examination only. The statements, and recommendations in this website, review course or practice cases are not intended to teach or guide the student/doctor to fully diagnose, treat, cure, prevent and manage patients in a clinical setting. These sample practice cases are written to help the student/doctor understand some of the possible ways they may be written/presented on the NBCE Part 4 examination and what may be expected of them during the Examination. This website, review course and the practice cases presented within should not take the place of any doctor's clinical decision making. Licensed doctors in a clinical setting may and should diagnose, treat, prevent, manage or cure patients, for any given condition, at their sole discretion!

CNBA Review Practice Case Instructions and Considerations:

1. Read the patient's history very carefully.

2. Case History Practice Cases: Not all practice cases in the review will contain Ortho/Neuro examinations and findings (only History will be provided in these types of cases along with a radiograph). These will be similar to how NBCE will present the Case History stations, however it will be your responsibilty to ask all of the important questions during the NBCE examination.

3. Ortho/Neuro Practice Cases -- The Ortho/Neuro Test findings/results in the CNBA Review practice cases are provided to help you answer the questions properly; however, during the actual NBCE Examination, it will be your responsibility to perform the Ortho/Neuro Tests and gather as much information necessary to answer the questions correctly in the post stations.

4. Post Room/Blue Book/Booklet: The CNBA Review Practice Cases will contain a section called: Post Room or Blue Book or Booklet similar to the ones presented during the post station rooms of the NBCE Examination -- In this section additional information regarding the patient is provided. As you finish examining the patient in the pre-station room (during the NBCE Examination) and are tansferred to the post station room to answer the questions, you will be provided with a booklet, which will contain additional information regarding the patient. Make sure to glance over this section and apply it if needed (it usually contains important and useful information).

5. DON'T immediately jump straight to the radiographic images to look for pathologies/abnormalities. The Radiographs may contain multiple findings that are not related to the case being presented: i.e X-ray may show degeneration, osteophytosis, osteoporosis, loss of disc space, etc., however the case may be related to Temporal Arteritis!

We recommend approaching the practice cases in the following order:
               a. Read/review the patient's History first.
               b. Review the Ortho/Neuro Exams and their findings/results.
               c. Review the results under the Post Station Blue Book/Booklet.
               d. Review the radiograph(s).
               e. Answer the questions.

6. Remember, there may be times where a few answers may apply, however you must choose 3 of the best answers from section A and 3 of the best answers from section B!

Below is a sample Case History Practice Case: (The Answers are not provided in this sample). The images and text are much larger and clearer in the actual review.
Note that in this particular case only the patient History is provided along with a radiograph. No Ortho/Neuro Tests are required to answer the following questions. Your ability to answer these questions will be based on how well you take the patient's history during the NBCE Examination. You will not be asked to examine or perform Ortho/Neuro Tests on the Case History stations.

Below is a sample Ortho/Neuro Practice Case from the CNBA Review: (The answers are not provided in this sample).
Note that a brief history along with the Ortho/Neuro results are provided to help you asses and answer the questions accordingly.

CNBA Review Practice Case Testing Section

The style of the questions and the types of cases presented in the CNBA Review are similar, yet NOT identical to the actual NBCE Part 4 Examination as stated before. With that in mind, we are certain that these practice cases will add to your knowledge and provide you with a good amount of information needed to do well on the main examination.

The image below is the homepage/dashboard of the Practice Cases section of the software. It explains all the options you have and the type of examiantion/test you can choose to take ( Study, Timed, and Stress).

With the "stress" examination, you will only have 90 seconds to answer each station/case question. The system will automatically select/generate the practice case. There are multiple cases in the review system for you to practice with (so take the exam as many times as possible to get new cases to appear). You will have the opprtunity to take multiple examinations and new cases will be updated to the system. After your answers are selected and submitted, the answers are automaticaly displayed: Again, green item(s) will indicate that you have selected the correct answer(s).
